Terry Shaneyfelt, MD, MPH is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at UAB in Birmingham, Alabama. I became interested in EBM while attending the McMaster EBM course in 1999.  Since joining the faculty at UAB I have had the privilege of conducting most of the formal EBM educational activities (EBM course, EBM lecture series for residents, journal club).

Beginning in the Fall of 2014,  I began pursuing a Master in Educational Technology online from Boise State University. Please visit my other site where I showcase my learning during my course of study.

I am a practicing internist in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. I regularly attend on the general medicine wards at the Birmingham VA Medical Center. I also supervise residents in their primary care clinics.

My research and writing interests have revolved around clinical practice guidelines, teaching EBM, and educational technology.
